THE TEAM…..experienced in running music festivals

THE BIG IDEA…..build a fleet of self-propelled floating venues to provide unique live event platforms, mainly for not-yet-famous performers. The venues would be used for festivals at a city dock, parks on the water, beach parties, pop-up performances, boating events and much more

THE PROTOTYPE ….a purpose-designed venue (42 x 16 ft.), with an elevated external stage was constructed. We invited a number of musicians to pick their brains.

THE FEEDBACK….the idea of performing on floating stages greatly excited these musicians and they provided constructive recommendations.

AN ARTIST….illustrated what the larger production version should look like by incorporating their suggestions. The new, production size, venue should be built on a 60-ft. by 20-ft. platform, floating on four large pontoons that give the venue a weight capacity of more than 35 tons. The upper deck stage needed to be spacious, 52-ft. long by 20-ft. wide, more than doubling the prototype’s stage area. The lower deck should have floor to ceiling windows and an internal stage for recordings and auditions.

INITIALLY….work on the new production venue proceeded very well and in February 2020 the basic platform was launched into the water, kept from freezing by a bubbler system.

THE ORIGINAL PLAN WAS….to introduce this new type of venue at a large music festival in Toronto, July 2020. It would be followed by a publicity/social media tour through the extensive canal system. From Lake Ontario through the Welland Canal to Lake Erie; Buffalo: Erie Canal too Hudson River ending in New York

THEN THE PANDEMIC….abruptly halted further construction.

NOW NEARING COMPLETION….the venue closely resembles the artist’s illustrations

FOR THE 2023 SEASON AND BEYOND.…. we are looking for a creative Corporate Partner to join us for creating a fleet of self-propelled floating venues
